Autoguide.com associate editor Craig Cole filmed a walkaround review of the new Lincoln Continental Concept design that premiered at the New York Auto Show in April.

As operators shop around for new vehicles among the many OEMs selling to the industry market, the Lincoln Continental concept was unveiled at the New York Auto Show March 30 with a number of new interior and exterior design features.

The Lincoln Continental was once a staple of the luxury sedan segment, with many being stretched for a roomier interior.

The Continental was discontinued in 2002. The Town Car, which was the chauffeured-level model from Lincoln for decades, was discontinued in 2011, with the MKT Town Car and MKS sedan continuing the distinguished legacy. Now the Continental is returning as Lincoln reinvests in the iconic model, and begins to define a new era of American elegance on the road.

At the New York Auto Show, the Lincoln Continental Concept showed many new features for the Lincoln brand, which promises to have the model in full production by 2016.Autoguide.com was there during the show, April 3-12, and filmed a quick walkthrough of the premium luxury sedan.

The interior features a spacious backseat with a center console with extending tray table and champagne bottle holder cubby.

Some of the features that stand out are the exterior design, which harkens to a Bentley-style elegance, with 21-inch wheels and electronic exterior door handles mounted on the belt line. The interior shows luxury right away, with rich alcantara leather seats that can comfortably envelop riders with adjustment controls in more than 30 different directions.

The rear seat has an interior center console with a foldout tray table and champagne bottle cubby. A nine-speed automatic and rear wheel drive is predicted for the new line. Operators are getting excited for its reported launch next year.
