Annual association event is deemed a success in educating House and Senate legislators on the industry’s efforts to promote TNC safety.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Operators throughout the nation took to Capitol Hill June 10 to lobby House and Senate legislators to support the industry against TNCs that violate long-standing private transportation rules and regulations.
Faced with countering the most critical issue threatening the industry’s long-term viability, National Limousine Association (NLA) board of directors, state association members and industry suppliers looked to increase political support for the industry against transportation network companies (TNCs) that disregard municipal and state regulations..
The outcome was positive and encouraging say those who attended the annual three-day event that included public relations and lobbying strategy sessions, networking events, and the NLA’s Board of Director’s meeting, held at the St. Regis Hotel, a few blocks from the White House. More than 50 NLA and state association leaders, limo operators and industry vendors participated.
Associations from New York, New England, Florida, Virginia, New Jersey, Texas, Maryland, Georgia, California, Illinois and other states sent members to both promote the viability and safety of the limousine industry and to educate politicians and staff on the public safety issues that TNCs disregard.
